12th Street Catering is an earth friendly company with a green philosophy reflected in all of our practices.
We strive to lower our impact on natural resources and the environment by going paper free with our proposals and by using all recycled paper for our inner office messaging.
We have recommitted ourselves to regional cooking and have created dramatic menus for many of our clients focusing on the diverse offerings of our region. We research sustainable fish before we create our proposals & keep a watchful eye on updating our sustainability lists. We even feature a Sustainable Fish Action Station that has been well received by many of our clients. We work with an extensive list of purveyors to offer the freshest local ingredients. We source many of our ingredients from local farmers and work with likeminded companies that practice sustainability, are environmentally friendly and exercise sustainable thinking.
We are commitment to reducing environmental impacts by minimizing excess waste, purchasing recycled materials, conserving resources, and recycling throughout the organization. We feature biodegradable plates and eating utensils made from bamboo & corn starch which we use for our off site events & which comes standard with all of our corporate deliveries. When creating event décor we are always focused on creative design solutions based on the principles of reusing, recycling & reinventing. We use compostable trash bags, have an onsite compactor for recycling our bales of cardboard & plastic, and have a commitment to companywide recycling to keep organic waste, glass, plastics & mixed paper out of landfills. We have very little kitchen waste and our frying oil is donated to our pastry chef, who uses it to power his car!
